Tomorrow the South-African space/thrash metallers of Boargazm will be releasing their new single, titled Epsilon, coming off of their upcoming Armagammon album. Epsilon also was part of the Fangs compilation released earlier by their record label Mongrel Records. However, today DutchMetalManiac is proud to already give it to you as an exclusive Dutch premiere below.
Epsilon sounds very brutal including some very low vocals, some spacy-sounding guitars as well as some tight riffs and pounding drums. On top of that it also features a ripping solo by Vulvodynia’s Kris Xenopoulos.
That’s not the only link with Vulvodynia though. You might know one of Boargazm’s guitarists, Chris van der Walt, as Vulvodynia’s bass player. He says the following about Epsilon: “Epsilon is the introduction for the sound of the Armagammon album. We have taken all the elements of music and life that inspire us and mixed them together to form a sound that we like to hear when playing together. It’s always going to be intense, groovy and filled with interesting ideas.”
While Heine van der Walt, guitarist and vocalist of Boargazm, says the following about it: “We couldn’t be more stoked to be back at it again! We’ve experimented a lot with grooves and tunings on the new stuff and we’ve found a sound that is a bit more evolved but still rooted in our own methods. Also having a shredder like Kris Xenopoulos put some of his magic on there is such a treat.”
