The post Exclusive Dutch video premiere: Melt – Land appeared first on DutchMetalManiac.
]]>On May the 8th they already released the first single and video of this new album, titled Hellion. As you can see and hear here, it’s definitely not just some simple rock, it includes some nicely roaring guitars, a somewhat doomy atmosphere and some clean vocals as well as some nicely shouting vocals.
Today, they released another single off of The Secret Teaching of Sorrow, titled Land, and DutchMetalManiac is proud to give you the exclusive Dutch video premiere of it below.
Land may be a bit less heavy, but it certainly contains that same nice doomy atmosphere. It also is quite different compared to Hellion in terms of the guitars, Land contains more hypnotizing guitars instead of roaring ones. On top of that we’ll hear the great vocal range of Charlotte Shiroe’s clean vocals in Land. See and hear for yourself below!

]]>The post Exclusive Dutch premiere: Boargazm – Epsilon appeared first on DutchMetalManiac.
]]>Epsilon sounds very brutal including some very low vocals, some spacy-sounding guitars as well as some tight riffs and pounding drums. On top of that it also features a ripping solo by Vulvodynia’s Kris Xenopoulos.
That’s not the only link with Vulvodynia though. You might know one of Boargazm’s guitarists, Chris van der Walt, as Vulvodynia’s bass player. He says the following about Epsilon: “Epsilon is the introduction for the sound of the Armagammon album. We have taken all the elements of music and life that inspire us and mixed them together to form a sound that we like to hear when playing together. It’s always going to be intense, groovy and filled with interesting ideas.”
While Heine van der Walt, guitarist and vocalist of Boargazm, says the following about it: “We couldn’t be more stoked to be back at it again! We’ve experimented a lot with grooves and tunings on the new stuff and we’ve found a sound that is a bit more evolved but still rooted in our own methods. Also having a shredder like Kris Xenopoulos put some of his magic on there is such a treat.”
Listen for yourself below.
You can pre-order Epsilon here.

]]>The post Campaign/Petition: Liefde voor Muziek appeared first on DutchMetalManiac.
]]>The campaign of Liefde voor Muziek (“Love for Music”) is there to show the Dutch government how big and diverse the Dutch music industry is, along with its cultural and economic worth, as well as to show them how important (live)music is to the society. Not only for the people creating music and the people around them, but also for the people visiting live events: the countless concerts in venues as well as the 1100 yearly festivals. The goal is that the government takes the already made suggestions and proposals seriously and that they quickly present a good long-term plan to save our music industry.
With signing the petition of Liefde voor Muziek, fans can show the government how important (live)music is to them personally. Next month the people behind Liefde voor Muziek are going to hand the results of the petition to the responsible ministers.
DutchMetalManiac of course supports this and that’s why we already signed the petition.
Hopefully you’ll do so too! You can do so here.

]]>The post Exclusive Dutch album premiere: Rosy Finch – Scarlet appeared first on DutchMetalManiac.
]]>Rosy Finch originally formed in Alicante (Spain) circa 2013, featuring Lluís Mas of Pyramidal, Mireia Porto of Hela and Elena García. Their take on the stoner genre is a furious and eclectic blend of influences ranging from Sonic Youth to the Melvins, showcasing brooding & atmospheric vocals laced with insidious and heavy riffs. Rosy Finch breaks out of the mould and takes the listeners on a completely different path than the one usually expected from a band of this genre.
After a year of composing the album, Mireia Porto was intent on creating a concept album with the colour red being the central theme. He said the following about this: “Scarlet is about aspiring to be more and to do more. It’s about the idea that nothing will remove the pain, but nothing can detain you. Red has always represented danger, lust, sin, guilt, blood…”
Each song on Scarlet has a red type colour in the title and represents different stories of different people (from fantasy to the real life), always ranging from love to violence.
Scarlet, the second full length album and the fourth release from the band was recorded and mixed at Red Records Studio and Surnia Records with mastering handled by scene legend Billy Anderson.
Although the album was recorded with the original line-up, 2019 did bring on a change with Oscar Soler (Domo, Pyramidal) and Juanjo Ufarte (Grajo, The Dry Mouths) taking over bass and drums duties for live shows and future recordings.
The album is heavier and sludgier than their previous releases and contains plenty of screams, melodic vocals, metal drums and dirty bass lines.
Scarlet is available now via Lay Bare Recordings, Discos Macarras, Larubia Producciones, Spinda Records, Bandcamp and all other digital platforms.
Today, one day before Scarlet‘s release, DutchMetalManiac is proud to give you the exclusive Dutch album premiere of Rosy Finch’ Scarlet below.

]]>Now, they’ve released the first single off of Penumbra, titled Arc Eye, which is a very nice atmospheric track including some nice heavier touches.
Barrens said the following about Arc Eye: “Arc Eye was the first piece of music written for what would become Penumbra. The idea behind the album and the driving force behind Barrens were already in place; to embrace inner darkness and outer light, to focus in on our shadows and to explore that space. Arc Eye represents self immolation through creation. To work so hard and intensely on something that you catch fire. Catharsis.”
DutchMetalManiac is proud to give you the exclusive Dutch premiere of it below.
