]]>The campaign of Liefde voor Muziek (“Love for Music”) is there to show the Dutch government how big and diverse the Dutch music industry is, along with its cultural and economic worth, as well as to show them how important (live)music is to the society. Not only for the people creating music and the people around them, but also for the people visiting live events: the countless concerts in venues as well as the 1100 yearly festivals. The goal is that the government takes the already made suggestions and proposals seriously and that they quickly present a good long-term plan to save our music industry.
With signing the petition of Liefde voor Muziek, fans can show the government how important (live)music is to them personally. Next month the people behind Liefde voor Muziek are going to hand the results of the petition to the responsible ministers.
DutchMetalManiac of course supports this and that’s why we already signed the petition.
Hopefully you’ll do so too! You can do so here.

There I will post about my other activities aside from DutchMetalManiac. You can read some more info about that on the homepage.
I would like to invite you to visit my personal website and I am curious what you’ll think of it.
Sharing the website, its related social media channels or just this post would of course be very much appreciated.
Thank you!

]]>This album has a very obvious black metal vibe to it, but only the black metal of the early stage. Not only the low production quality black metal, but also more of the later stages of black metal, the Immortal black metal.
Dissonance is obvious through the album, with some atmospheric elements also scattered here and there. One of the more surprising things about this album is the doom metal elements. It is strange to hear the mix of black metal and doom metal, but here it actually works pretty well, the doom-ish elements are placed at all the right spots for it to make a good album. Something also weird to hear is the electronic moments of the songs, pretty Rammstein sounding parts, but still it was done masterfully, as you don’t get the “this doesn’t sound right” or “this isn’t supposed to be here” moments anywhere in the whole album.
The overall quality is not one you would expect from a black metal band, as it is much better that what you normally expect. Everything is audible, and the bass is no exception like on most black metal records.
All in all for me this albums is a 10/10 in all aspects of it.

]]>One year ago, the idea of DutchMetalManiac came to my mind and this post is to celebrate that anniversary.
I started DutchMetalManiac from the beginning, so there was nothing. Now, one year later, review requests are coming in, news releases will come through and sometimes we have interviews or live reviews. I want to thank all the bands, labels and promoters for that.
Since DutchMetalManiac started to grow, I realized I couldn’t handle it my own. So I started searching for more writers. While we still looking for more writers, we found some already.
So a huge thanks to DutchMetalManiac’s writers (besides me): Julia Obenauer, Joost van der Leij, Glenn van der Heijden, Alex Kelderman, Ron van Coevorden and Nathasja Voerman.
Furthermore I want to thank all the people who support DutchMetalManiac, especially you, the readers of DutchMetalManiac. Thank you!
So, I hope you enjoy DutchMetalManiac in the future and spread the word.
Stay metal maniacs!

]]>The post DutchMetalManiac exists almost six months appeared first on DutchMetalManiac.
]]>About six months ago, I started this blog, DutchMetalManiac.
A little while later I made a Facebook page and a Twitter profile for it.
To date, DutchMetalManiac has more than 4,000 pageviews a month, 276 likes on Facebook and 351 followers on Twitter.
I was wondering, could it be possible to get those numbers, at least, doubled when DutchMetalManiac exists one year?
Do you want to help DutchMetalManiac reach that goal?
Things you could do (if you want of course):
-Share the link of the website
-Share the Facebook page
-Share the Twitter profile
-Leave a reply at this post, email to [email protected], or fill in the contact form with things you want to see or just your opinion.
Hope you will help and have fun at DutchMetalManiac in the future!
