Recently, DutchMetalManiac’s Tim van Velthuysen interviewed Jet Jaguar’s bassist Jorge.

Hey, how are you?

Hi, Jorge (bassist) here! I’m doing great, thanks for having me today.

Can you tell us something about the history of Jet Jaguar?

Jet Jaguar was formed in Cancun, Mexico back in 2014, by five 16-17 year old kids just wanting to play some heavy metal. After a couple of years playing local shows and with an EP released, we had the opportunity to represent Mexico at Wacken Open Air’s metal battle in Germany. It was the first time that a Mexican band won the competition. After this achievement, we toured across Europe and Mexico, spent another couple of years performing at important festivals, and then decided that it was time to record our debut album. Endless Nights was released last July 2020 under German label Pride & Joy Music.

For people not knowing Jet Jaguar (yet), how would you describe your music yourself?

I’d say simply metal; because the thing is, we have so far released a demo, an EP, and a full length album, and across these 3 works we have explored speed metal, heavy metal, shredding, hard rock… and perhaps in the future we’ll continue experimenting, but one thing’s for sure, we’ll always keep it metal.

When someone doesn’t know Jet Jaguar yet and you can choose one of your songs to present yourself, which song would that be?

Personally I think I’d show them our song Jet Ranger. I think it encapsulates the sound of Jet Jaguar so far. It is both energetic but also very melodic.
